Our beautiful Hmong Hill Tribe Purses have been directly sourced by us from the Hill Tribes in the North of Thailand. 

The Hmong are one of the most distinctive and widely dispersed ethnic minority groups in Southeast Asia. Originally from southern China, they migrated over centuries into the mountainous highlands of Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, and Myanmar — areas they share with other “hill tribes” such as the Karen, Akha, and Lisu. In Thailand they are concentrated mainly around Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai provinces, living in villages at high elevations.

Hmong embroidery is perhaps the most celebrated aspect of Hmong culture — their textile work is considered among the finest folk art in Southeast Asia. Historically a woman’s skill at embroidery was a measure of her value and marriageability.

We are on a mission to save this beautiful embroidery from dying out by establishing a market for their beautiful work, to this end Peter went out on his motorbike and met some of the ladies who sit at home embroidering, in their villages high up in the Golden Triangle, he came back with this great selection of Hill Tribe Embroidery.

Our Hmong Flower Design Hill Tribe Purses come in a variety of Colours, they measure 16 cm by 1o cm and are lined and fastened with a zip. They also habe a handy carry strap, which you can slip over your wrist when carrying the purse.

As they are handmade the exact embroidery may vary slightly.
