Our Wooden Animal Carvings come from the tropical island of Bali. It is probably the nearest you can get to Paradise. It is not just the warm blue water, good weather and breathtaking scenery, it is also the beauty of the people.

Bali has long been a centre of Art and has a wonderfully ceremonial version of Hinduism, quite different from that practised on the sub continent.   In fact in Bali there is no word for Art, it is inherently part of everything. We bring you a small selection of Balinese Carvings to brighten up your home. 

 Our carvings are hand carved by a family of master woodcarvers living high in the hills in Bali. They are hand carved from sustainably grown albesia wood or bamboo root. Albesia wood is an incredible resource, in the tropics trees can grow to a height of 70 ft and a girth of 3 ft within 4 years of germination. It is soft, light and easy to carve and as it grows so quickly it is very sustainable.  Bamboo is also very fast growing and sustainable and the root is usually thrown away, but it has a beautifull texture and makes for great duck carvings!
