Afghan Pakistan Conflict 2026

It seems to have escaped the mainstream newscycle, which has been focused on the madness taking place in the middle east, but once good friends Pakistan and Afghanistan have also fallen out and started launching missles at each other.

As a result the Afghan Pakistan border has been closed for several months, unfortunately this is the only economical way for us to get our slipper socks out of Afghanistan.

This means that once we sell out of our current supplies then we will have no more socks to sell until the border reopens, which means that our producers will be without income until the situation resolves.

We want to help and know that you do too. We therefore feel that the best way to help is to making a donation for every remaining pair of Slipper Socks sold.

This year for the first time we are offering a  fully vegan slipper sock, it comes with a faux leather vegan sole which is soft but handwearing on carpets and solid floors, and a sock that is knitted from a lovely soft yarn, that is hypoallergenic, not itchy and non scratchy!

Getting our slipper socks from Afghanistan is quite a challenge.  We managed to get a shipment across the  border, by camel train, into Pakistan a few days before the Taliban took over. Then trying to get cargo out of Pakistan was a nightmare due to there being a shortage of shipping containers.  The good news is that they have finally arrived!

They are hand knitted by women who have been widowed in the conflict, buying our slipper socks really helps them earn an income and rebuild their lives.  Things have changed quite a bit under the new regime and many of the women who make our slipper socks have been internally displaced, so it could be a while until we get any more shipments from Afghanistan. 

Our Slipper Socks are the perfect winter alternative to cold feet! They are very versatile, they can be worn around the house as slippers or in your wellies as socks! 

 They come in four sizes from  small to extra large, A small size is around UK size 2- 4, medium UK size 5 - 7, large UK size 8 - 10, XL UK size 11+. 

As they are handmade patterns and colour do vary! We have divided our stock into five groups;

Warm Colours such as Reds, Oranges & Yellows

Earthy Colours such as Greens & Browns

Cool Colours such as Blues, Purples, Greys & Black and White

Bright Colours such as Bright Pinks, Bright Oranges, Bright Greens & Contrasting Colour Combinations

Muted Colours such as Dark Browns, Dark Greys, Dark Bergundies & Muted Colour Combinations

As they are handknitted and all different this can be a bit of an arbitary distinction so if you are after a particular colour send us an email with your preferences.  We will send you the best match from our stock.
