Tibetan Medicine is based on herbs and plants, the power of which has been forgotten by many people in the 'developed' world. Tibetans also believe that Mental, Physical and Spirtual health and all inter-related.

Our Tibetan Incense is made for us by an old Tibetan Lama who uses an ancient secret formula passed down through the generations. The sticks are pure incense they do not contain a bamboo stick which Tibetans believe contaminates the incense.

Our Tibetan Incense has a sandalwood base and contains many herbs that only grow high in the Himalaya, these herbs are traditionally collected by Yak Herders when their flocks are grazing on the summer pastures in the short Himalayan summer. It is used for ritual offerings, healing, space clearing, meditation and bringing a pleasant fragrance to the environment.

Tibetan Incense is a Dhoop incense which means that it is solid incense, it does not have a bamboo stick so you need a special dhoop incense holder with a bigger hole.

The large hole in the middle is the right size to take sticks of Bhutanese incense whilst the small holes around the outside take normal agarbatti incense such as Nag Champa. They are hand made by our Tibetan Producers in Kathmandu.

Our Meditation Sets also contain a set of Tibetan Prayer Flags ( Lung Ta) to bring good karma. Lung Ta prayer flags are of square or rectangular shape and are connected along their top edges to a long string or thread. They are commonly hung on a diagonal line from high to low between two objects. Traditionally, prayer flags come in sets of five, one in each of five colours that represent the elements: Blue (symbolizing sky/space); White (symbolizing air/wind); Red (symbolizing fire); Green (symbolizing water); Yellow (symbolizing earth).

Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. The flags do not carry prayers to 'gods, rather the Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread good will and compassion to the four corners of the World.  Therefore, prayer flags are thought to bring benefit to all.

 We also include a set of 'tasting notes which describe the qualities of the incenses and give some information about all the items in our gift sets.  All our products are fair traded by us, One World is Enough.

We work directly with our incense makers who are all small family based businesses living high up in the Himalaya. Becoming an incense maker requires a lot of knowledge of all the aromatic herbs and compounds that goes into Bhutanese incense. The exact recipes for the individual incenses are a closely guarded secret and are passed down from father to son, and no two family businesses will make exactly the same incense.
