Indian Kantha quilts are traditional handcrafted textiles originating from the rural areas of West Bengal and Bangladesh. These quilts were made by layering old saris and cloths, then hand-stitching them together with intricate, running "kantha" stitches. 

Historically, Kantha quilting was a way for women to repurpose worn-out fabrics into warm and functional blankets for their families. The process involves meticulous and repetitive stitching, often creating motifs inspired by nature, folklore, and daily life. 

We have used the Kantha technique in a a new contemporary way by using fresh vibrant prints and giving them the Kantha treatment.  We have many stunning designs, but only one of each one!

They make great bedspreads, throws, and wall hangings, adding a touch of bohemian elegance to modern interiors. Embracing Kantha quilts supports sustainable practices and preserves a rich tradition of Indian textile artistry.

 Our Kantha Quilts come in an Extra Large Kingsize and measure 90 by 108 inches ( 229 cm by 275 cm approx).  They are 100% cotton.
