Our stylised Papua Warriors are based on the brave tribal warriors in the remote Indonesian province of West Papua which forms the western half of the island of New Guinea. The pose shows the warrior on guard duty looking into the distance for enemies.

They are hand carved from sustainably grown albesia wood. Albesia wood is an incredible resource, in the tropics trees can grow to a height of 70 ft and a girth of 3 ft within 4 years of germination. It is soft, light and easy to carve and as it grows so quickly it is very sustainable.

The skirts and hair are made from coconut fibre. Our carvings are stained and waxed and come in the choice of blond or brown hair.

We have two sizes of warriors both of which are slightly different, the small warriors have a head covering and  stand 36 cm tall and their base measures 5.5 cm by 5.5 cm.  Our Large warriors, have an uncovered head and stand 115 cm tall and their base measures 12 cm by 12 cm.

As all our warriors are hand carved they are all slightly different, this means that you get a unique hand made item.
