Our Lovely new Handcarved Ducks are proving to be very popular with our customers. They are hand carved by a family of master woodcarvers living high in the hills in Bali.

They are hand carved from sustainably grown Bamboo Root. Bamboo is an incredible resource, in the tropics it can grow to a height of 80 ft within a few years and as it grows so quickly it is very sustainable.

Bamboo Stems are the part of the plant most commonly used but bamboo has a woody root which is soft, light and easy to carve and has a wonderful texture.

Our Ducks are hand carved, the area of plumage is left as the rough bamboo root as it has the texture of the feathers. The smooth head and feet areas of the duck are given a light varnished with a matt varnish for protection.

The lovely raw bamboo root give our Ducks great texture and personality and make them a bit different from other ducks available.

Our Giant Grandaddy Duck measures approx 70 cm high by 30cm wide and weighs around 1600 g.

As all our Ducks are hand carved they are all slightly different, this means that you get a unique hand made item
